It all started in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, or simply “the Soo” (see the Soo on Facebook). Born in 1952 to Dorothy, daughter of Alphonse and Rose LeLevire. Mom’s father Alphonse owned and operated the Bucket of Blood saloon. It had other names, but that is the moniker most folks choose when referring to the happening tavern and inn located on Michigan’s northern peninsula. Mom told me that she had met Gordy Howe there; the inn was the summer training camp for the Detroit Red Wings.
